About me
I grew with comics, arcade cabinets and music.
Then it came my first “computer”! I think I was 12 or 13 years old, and my parents gave me an Amstrad CPC 464 with a recorder and a colour monitor. Commodore was more impressive, but I just got that. ![]()
So I started to learn BASIC (well… that was not the “real” BASIC… sigh…)
and obviously to play to those pixelated games.
I got my first PC in the late 1995, not lucky enough to get Win95… so I got DOS 6.22 + Win 3.11 + OS/2 Warp 3. That PC was a new beginning.
For those years, it was a top level PC: a P75 with 16 MB RAM, 850 MB HDD, a S3 Trio32 1MB PCI Video Card and a fantastic SoundBlaster AWE 32 (just to compose something with MIDI and having in some way “realistic sounds”)!
I think my Dad hated me for spending all that money (yeah, PC were not cheap!!)
I became a Visual Basic developer (I tried Cobol and C, but no luck with them… shame on me!) and in the same year I started to learn HTML (when Dreamweaver was just a dream and the best was HotDog Pro)
I upgraded (and sometimes overclocked) my PC. I got a P200MMX with a 3D Blaster 4MB video card, Then I switched to AMD with my first 64bit CPU: an Athlon 3000+ with a Voodoo2 card (and a Geforce 2 later). Wow!
Then I discovered the 3D art, and I started to suffer too many hours during my renders… so here’s a Quad-Core with a Geforce 8600 GTS and 4 GB RAM.
I got 2 notebooks: the first 3 years ago… an Acer 17” Core 2 Duo that broke after the end of the warranty… (always lucky, uh?), then I bought an HP Interl Core i5, too noisy and warm for my tastes. Notebooks are not for me…
In the meantime I worked 10 years as employee developing websites with ASP Classic, PHP and ASP.Net.
In the 2009 I started my own web Agency: Web4People.
In 2011 I needed something different.
Yeah, “different”: I switched to Mac!
So I bought a Mac Pro 1.1 + OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and 7GB RAM. Now I can do gigantic renders with reasonable times.
The next step? When I’ll have enough money, maybe a new Mac Pro (maybe when Apple will release an updated Mac Pro… )… But only if I’ll have enough money and no troubles at all.
